Anyone who has a serious, life-limiting illness, their family members or caregivers.

Do I need to be registered with the Palliative Care Program to join Every Day Counts?

No, you can join Every Day Counts at any time, the earlier the better.

Why is Every Day Counts free?

We do not want to create a financial barrier for anyone who wishes to join Every Day Counts. The Program is funded through donations to the North Shore Hospice & Palliative Project.

Do I need a Doctor’s referral to attend Every Day Counts?

No, you do not need a doctor’s recommendation to attend Every Day Counts. Understanding that our focus is to support those with a life-limiting illness is the only parameter.

Can Every Day Counts connect me with palliative care services on the North Shore?

Yes, we can help facilitate a referral to the North Shore Palliative & Supportive Care Program whenever you wish.

The loss I have experienced happened off the North Shore, can I still attend Every Day Counts?

Yes, anyone who has faced the loss of a family member or friend, and is looking for support can connect with Every Day Counts.

How long can I access the counselling sessions?

We offer individual counselling for up to six months and then offer ongoing access to our support groups.

Do you have a waitlist for counselling appointments?

We endeavour to see people within 2-3 weeks of their initial contact with us.

Am I eligible to request free counselling?

If you, or a family member or close friend, are dealing with a recent palliative diagnosis, or you are experiencing grief or loss, then you can request access to our counselling services.

Can I attend a class or workshop without registering?

In order for us to give you the best experience possible, we ask that you kindly fill out an registration form and wait for your registration to be processed before jumping into a class.
